1979-P $1 Wide Rim, FS-301, MS67 PCGS. Formerly known as the Near Date variety, the Wide Rim variety is scarce. Presumably, it was an introductory subtype promptly abandoned, similar to the 1864 Small Motto two cent piece. This lustrous and crisply struck Superb Gem exhibits attractive caramel-gold and steel-blue toning. Abrasions are absent, and the sole imperfections are a few pinpoint lavender flecks on the reverse. Population: 17 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (6/16).
