Description

1890-CC Morgan Dollar, MS63
VAM-4, 'Tail Bar' Variety

1890-CC $1 Tail Bar, VAM-4, MS63 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The "Tail Bar" VAM variety gets its moniker from a thick, heavy die gouge that connects the eagle's tailfeathers to the wreath left of the bow. This variety is quite popular as the die flaw is plain to the naked eye. The current coin is vibrantly lustrous and brilliant, with grade-consistent abrasions primarily restricted to Liberty's cheek. A trifle lightly struck, showing faint remnants of parallel roller marks in the center on each side.
