1836 $2 1/2 Block 8 MS63 PCGS. Breen-6144, Variety 15, R.2. Second Head of 1837. The Block 8 1836 quarter eagle variety is scarcer in Mint State than its Script 8 counterpart. This Select example displays attractive surfaces with softly frosted yellow-gold luster. Some strike weakness is seen on the high points of the portrait and on the left side of the reverse shield, but the eye appeal remains pleasing. Population: 12 in 63, 15 finer (3/16).(Registry values: P1)
