Description

1879-CC Ten Dollar, VG10
Only 1,762 Pieces Struck

1879-CC $10 VG10 PCGS. Variety 1-A. The low mintage of 1,762 pieces and corresponding low survivorship of 40-50 pieces makes the 1879-CC ten a collector favorite. In spite of the low grade, the design elements are fully outlined with some loss of interior detail on the eagle's wings. The coin is original and retains the reddish-gold color of uncleaned examples of this rarity. Numerous small abrasions are peppered over each side, as expected.
