Description

1873-CC Liberty Eagle, XF40
Seldom Encountered in Finer Grades

1873-CC $10 XF40 PCGS. Variety 2-A. The 1873-CC Liberty eagle boasts a low mintage of 4,543 pieces, making the issue very scarce in all grades today. Probably no more than 60-80 examples survive in all grades and most examples seen grade no better than VF. The 1873-CC is unknown in Mint State condition. This attractive XF40 piece shows light, even wear on the design elements and the pleasing greenish-gold surfaces are lightly abraded for the grade. Highlights of orange and rose enhance the visual appeal. Traces of original mint luster cling to protected areas around the devices. Population: 9 in 40, 27 finer (6/13).(Registry values: N4719)
