Description

1881-S Silver Dollar, MS68
Exceptional Quality for Type Purposes

1881-S $1 MS68 NGC. CAC. The 1881-S is one of the better produced issues in the Morgan dollar series, prompting David Bowers (2006) to write: "Specimens nearly always are sharply struck and beautiful." The present high-grade example is one such product, with shimmering cartwheel luster, a bold strike, and exceptional preservation. Liberty's cheek is virtually pristine. The borders exhibit peach-gold, lilac-red, and forest-green. Certified in a former generation holder.
