Description
1853 25C Liberty Round 25 Cents, BG-219, Low R.7, AU58 NGC. Another rare Gaime, Guillemot & Co. variety, identified by a star close to the tip of Liberty's nose. The apricot-gold fields are void of contact and display occasional traces of verdigris. The strike is incomplete near the coronet tip and opposite on the lower reverse. As of (3/18), the present lot is the only example of BG-219 in the NGC Census.From The David Sunshine Collection.
