Republic Cast "National Convention" Medal L'An I (1792) AU, Maz-318, VG-338. 38.9mm. 41.45gm. By Andre Galle. A rare "test" Medal produced for the National Convention of the artists union assembled at Lyon. Cast from bell metal, and clearly inspired by the iconic 1783 Libertas Americana design of the nascent United States (and likewise struck in France). Casting flaws.
