PHRYGIA. Synnada. Ca. 166-128 BC. AR cistophorus (26mm, 12.74 gm, 12h). NGC MS 4/5 - 3/5. Ca. AD 160-150, Myph-, magistrate. Serpent emerging from cista mystica; all within wreath / Bow and bowcase decorated with aphlaston, flanked by two serpents; ΣYNAΔ civic monogram of Synnada to left, seven-pointed star to right, MYΦ monogram below. Kleiner-Noe Series 8.Unusual issue with the magistrate's name appearing on only one reverse die in this series.
