Delicately Toned 1923-S Quarter, MS 67 Full Head Condition
1923-S 25C MS 67 Full Head PCGS. With an original mintage of only 1,360,000 pieces, it is little wonder that this S-mint delivery is a prized commodity in all levels of preservation. The otherwise razor sharp strike wanes over a few of the left (facing) shield rivets. Heavily frosted and endowed with a pleasing cartwheel sheen, both the obverse and the reverse show pale gold iridescence throughout. The surfaces are pristine and indicative of the numismatic beauty that resides at the Superb Gem grade tier, although an inconspicuous abrasion on the inner shield could be of importance for pedigree purposes. Since only 5 pieces have been so encapsulated by the two major grading services with none finer (9/99), this fortunate specimen numbers itself among the ultimate survivors of the issue.Ex: PCGS Registry "East Coast Collector," The Finest Known Set of Standing Liberty Quarters.
