Memorable Gem 1926 Standing Liberty Quarter with Full Head Detail
1926 25C MS 66 Full Head PCGS. In the February 1986 edition of the Coin Dealer Newsletter, J. H. Cline stated: "[Full Head, Gem quality 1926 quarters] can usually be located without a great deal of difficulty." A casual glance at current population data, however, confirms that Cline's statement is confined to MS 65 representatives. With pristine, mark-free faces, the present specimen is clearly in a different class. Mottled tan-russet accents are noted about the rims, but the overall appearance is one of brilliance. Despite hallmark striking softness on the inner shield and gown lines, the balance of the focal features exhibit the razor sharp delineation that has proved elusive to numerous Mint State Standing Liberty quarters. Sparkling frosty luster rounds out the eye appeal of this lovely piece. Population: 8 in 66, 0 finer (10/99).Ex: PCGS Registry "East Coast Collector," The Finest Known Set of Standing Liberty Quarters.
