Very Scarce 1870 Pattern Half Dollar, Judd-934

1870 50C Half Dollar, Judd-934, Pollock-1040, R.7, PR64 PCGS. A seated figure of Liberty faces left on the obverse. Thirteen stars surround Liberty with the date below. She supports a shield with her right hand, and holds an olive branch in her left. A liberty pole is behind the shield and a scroll crossing the shield is inscribed LIBERTY in incused letters. The reverse is the type used for regular issue Seated Halves. Struck in silver with a plain edge. Rich sea-green toning covers most of the obverse with a light accent of golden around the rim. The reverse is very bright and flashy with golden-rose centers that are surrounded by deep cobalt-blue peripheral color.
