Description
1896 Double Eagle, MS64+
Rare Any Finer
1896 $20 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. A broadly lustrous yellow-gold
example with a few splashes of apricot and orange. The devices are
well-defined, and though the rims have bumps and a cut appears in
the hair to the right of Liberty's eye, the all-around visual
appeal befits a near-Gem. PCGS has graded only five examples as
MS65 or better (12/12).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26CF, PCGS# 9029, Greysheet# 9831)
