Description
Very Rare N-3 1831 Cent, PR64 Brown
1831 1C PR64 Brown NGC. Medium Letters. N-3, R.6 as a proof. Olive-gold patina, sometimes tending toward the former and sometimes the latter, dominates the eye appeal of this Choice proof large cent. Between the central striking detail and the reflective nature of the fields, this is a no-questions proof, despite the striking softness visible at the obverse stars. There are several die diagnostics, including a leaning second 1 in the date and prominent recutting on the E in CENT. Excellent quality and eye appeal with only a few minor hairlines scattered in the fields. MRB PR60.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2263, PCGS# 1796, Greysheet# 979)
Weight: 13.48 grams
