Richly Toned Gem 1870 Quarter Pattern, Judd-885

1870 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-885, Pollock-983, Low R.7, PR65 Brown NGC. A seated Liberty faces left, and supports a shield, a banner inscribed LIBERTY, and an olive branch. A liberty pole rises behind her. The reverse is from a regular issue Liberty Seated Quarter reverse. Struck in copper with a reeded edge from slightly rotated dies. Rich apricot, olive, and sky-blue colors grace this original and attractive Gem. Only two examples of Judd-885 have been certified by NGC, with the other piece graded PR64 Red and Brown.(#61129)
