1879-O Dollar, MS64 Deep Prooflike
Early NGC Holder, Contrasted Surfaces
1879-O $1 MS64 Deep Prooflike NGC. Deep Prooflike examples
of the 1879-O Morgan dollar are scarce compared to their
non-Prooflike counterparts, and examples as fine as MS64 are rare.
This near-Gem displays subtle cameo contrast on each side, with
blue and violet border toning around a brilliant interior. Watery
mirrors complement frosty central devices, which are boldly struck
throughout. A few marks in the left obverse field deny Gem
classification but are not bothersome. Housed in a Generation 6
Fatty holder. Census: 22 in 64, 4 finer (8/25).(Registry values: P5, N2998)From The Ramundo Collection of Morgan and Peace Dollars.
