Description

Rare Choice Full Bands 1945 Dime, Struck 5% Off Center

1945 10C Dime--Struck 5% Off Center--MS64 Full Bands PCGS. Dusky charcoal patina outlines the devices and legends on the obverse, while the reverse has lighter apple-green and dove-gray colors. Struck slightly off center at 1 o'clock, affecting the tops of ERT in LIBERTY. The surfaces are virtually free from contact, and possess satiny luster. With its mintage of nearly 160 million pieces, little regard was given to this issue until the 1970s, when collecting by Full Bands became popular. The 1945 Dime has since been highly publicized within the hobby for its rarity with Full Bands, and deservedly so.
