Description
Rare Mint State 1723 Rosa Americana Crowned Halfpenny
1723 1/2P Rosa Americana Halfpenny, Crown MS62 Brown PCGS. Breen-140. No stop after 3. Dark brown and very attractive for the grade, with a bold strike and excellent surfaces. On the reverse there is a small patch of brassy-copper on the lower portion, and both the obverse and reverse rim show file lines caused during the planchet preparation process-and these only affect the dentils. A problem-free coin for the colonial specialist and downright elusive so well preserved. Housed in a green insert PCGS holder. Population: 1 in 62, 3 finer (12/05).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2ASL, PCGS# 119, Greysheet# 29)
