Rare With Such Contrast
1898 5C PR66+ Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. Ex: Simpson. The Mint
produced some of its finest proofs ever during that last few years
of the 19th century. Still, 1898 proof nickels with Deep Cameo
contrast are rarely seen. Only 11 submissions at PCGS qualify for
that designation, while 447 and 102 grading events are reported in
non-Cameo and Cameo, respectively. This deeply reflective and
contrasted Premium Gem enjoys light splashes of gold, lilac, and
powder-blue color. Exceptional eye appeal. Population: 4 in 66 (1
