Wonderful 1795 Lettered Edge Cent, S-75, B-3, AU50
1795 1C Lettered Edge, S-75, B-3, R.3 AU50 NGC. A die crack from the rim to the bust between the 95 in the date identifies this variety. The same obverse die was used on S-74 and S-75, and is easily distinguished because the entire top of the 5 in the date is covered by the bust. Attractive medium brown patina enhances each side. These cents were usually struck on defective planchets, but this piece shows no noticeable porosity. Scattered marks on each side define the grade, but none merit individual mention.
