Description

1796 MEDAL Castorland Medal, Copper, Reeded Edge MS64 Brown PCGS. W-9150, R.6. Although designated as original dies on the PCGS insert, only the obverse die is original. The reverse was struck from a copy die. Made at the Paris Mint during the early 1800s. CUIVRE is readable on the reeded edge at 6 o'clock. A high grade, well struck, and prooflike chocolate-brown piece with minor spots on the right reverse.
