Description
Enticing 1928 Hawaiian Half, MS66
1928 50C Hawaiian MS66 PCGS. The Hawaiian half of 1928 was one of the last commemoratives struck before the Coolidge presidency gave way to the Hoover presidency, famously hostile to commemorative programs. The strongly lustrous surfaces of this carefully preserved half have areas of thin rose and tan toning with a layer of thicker khaki color evident at the lower reverse. Near the pinnacle for the Registry collector; PCGS has graded just one coin finer (6/07). Accompanying the lot is an envelope from the Junior Achievement of Honolulu, Hawaii, postmarked June 29, 1960, containing a gold-colored dollar-sized souvenir medal celebrating Hawaiian statehood. From The Frank DuVall Collection of U.S. Commemoratives.(Registry values: N4719)
