1851-O G$1 MS64 PCGS. Boldly struck and lustrous with clean surfaces and pleasing eye appeal. Although Philadelphia issued more than 3.3 million gold dollars in 1851, New Orleans had a more stingy production of 290,000 pieces. That year, the denomination was essential to commerce since silver coins were widely melted by speculators.
