Description

1890-CC Double Eagle, AU58
Rich, Frosty Luster

1890-CC $20 AU58 NGC. Variety 1-A. The mintmark is centered between (TWENT)Y D(OLLARS). The far right tailfeathers are lapped. As one of the most accessible double eagle issues from the Carson City branch mint, the 1890-CC is often found in type collections. Rich, frosty luster enlivens the rose and green-gold surfaces of this nearly Uncirculated offering. Deep, detracting abrasions are kept to a minimum, although small marks are peppered uniformly over each side.
