Description

Superior 1885 Gold Dollar, MS67

1885 G$1 MS67 NGC. Garrett and Guth (2006) write that "although the mintage for the 1885 increases dramatically from previous years, the number of coins available to collectors is somewhat smaller ... . There are surprisingly few superb MS-67 or better coins graded." Wonderful semiprooflike fields show moderate cameo contrast against the frosted devices. Vibrant yellow-gold patina coats the well preserved surfaces. Census: 31 in 67, 3 finer (8/09).(Registry values: N2998)
