Conditionally Rare 1872-S Twenty, MS61

1872-S $20 MS61 NGC. A lovely Mint State example of this conditionally rare double eagle. In fact, most or all San Francisco Mint twenties from the same time are condition rarities. This frosty Mint State specimen shows brilliant yellow-gold luster with a hint of green, and it is lightly abraded as expected for the grade. Census: 59 in 61, 9 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)
