Description
Later Die State 1804 Cohen-6 Half Cent
1804 1/2 C Spiked Chin. C-6, B-6, R.2. Die State 9. MS61 Brown NGC. XF40 EAC. Braig State 6.0. Spiked Chin; Wide fraction, low numerator. This die state has the wedge-shaped rim break over the first A of AMERICA, and the area below the fraction has formed a retained cud with the dentils still visible. The area over I of UNITED has not yet begun to sink, or at best only very slightly. This is apparently one of the more plentiful states of the variety. Lovely chocolate-brown intermingled with lighter tan and darker steel. The reverse has considerable golden color, faded from original red luster. Lightly abraded surfaces as usual for the grade.Ex: Jim McGuigan (12/3/1984). Envelope Included.(Registry values: P4)
