Bright 1854-C AU53 Quarter Eagle

1854-C $2 1/2 AU53 NGC. Variety 15-I. The only variety known for the issue. The 1854-C quarter eagle is a difficult coin to acquire in About Uncirculated, and is very rare in Mint State. This bright AU53 coin displays two shades of yellow-gold patina, along with traces of luster in the recesses. The design features reveal a typical strike, which is stronger on the obverse. A few circulation marks are visible, slightly more so on the obverse.(Registry values: P2)
