Description
Lovely Choice 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter
1916 25C MS64 PCGS. Both sides of this pleasing Choice coin offer soft, attractive luster that shines through subtle mustard-gold, orange, and silver-gray patina. Though the head is a trifle soft, the rest of this piece shows pleasing detail, and the rivets of the shield are complete. Only a handful of tiny flaws combine to preclude Gem status. Though all three of the minor silver denominations underwent several iterations in their redesigns, the Standing Liberty quarter proved the most troublesome, and the 1916 issue saw production of just 52,000 pieces, which were released alongside Philadelphia Type One coins dated 1917.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 242Y, PCGS# 5704, Greysheet# 5533)
