1797 Half Cent, Struck Off Center, XF40 PCGS

1797 1/2 C 1 Above 1--Struck 3% Off Center--Plain Edge XF40 PCGS. C-1, B-1, R.2. Manley Die State 4.0, "Scarce." Struck several degrees off center toward 6 o'clock. The date and STATES OF are very tight at the edge of the flan. A sharp dark brown example with toned over abrasions on and below the Liberty Cap, on the cheek and neck, on the field near Liberty's nose, and near the obverse border at 2 o'clock. A late die state that features numerous lengthy die cracks (as struck) on the obverse. ICA in AMERICA and the Y in LIBERTY are faint, as made from sunken dies. EAC 12.(Registry values: P6)
