Description

1922 No D 1C Strong Reverse--Rim Damage--NCS. Fine Details. FS-013.2. Die Pair 2. This is an immensely popular variety that has puzzled and fascinated numismatists since shortly after its creation at the Denver Mint. This example displays smooth, mahogany-brown surfaces that display no trace of a "D" mintmark, and design details that are much sharper on the reverse than on the obverse. Rim damage is noted near 10 o'clock on the reverse, and a small cud is observed at 9 o'clock on the obverse. (Registry values: P2)
