1858 Indian Cent Pattern Judd-211 Pollock-262 Subvariety With Unlisted Obverse Die

1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-211, Pollock-262, PR64 Brown NGC. Snow-PT26, R.5. The Broad Bust Point subvariety of Judd-211. The Indian Cent obverse of 1859, except dated 1858 and with a broad bust point instead of the issued narrow bust point. The reverse features a broad oak wreath sans shield, the denomination as usual centered within the wreath. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Snow's Reverse A with a die doubled O in ONE, but the obverse die differs, and it features a slender cud on the rim beneath the date, and a bold die line from the dentils above the left upright of the N in UNITED. A well struck and beautiful golden-brown specimen, nearly perfect aside from the occasional minute carbon spot.
