Description
Exceptional Gem 1919-D Buffalo Nickel
1919-D 5C MS65 PCGS. Even among the relatively few Gem survivors of this sought-after Denver issue, at least a modest degree of softness can be expected on the highpoints of the design. Such is the nature of the 1919-D, one of the many branch mint issue from the teens and twenties with striking deficiencies. This solid Gem breaks all the rules when it comes to strike, being remarkably bold in all areas. Both sides display a lovely, frosted sheen and are tinted in delicate golden and steel-blue patina. Population: 52 in 65, 13 finer (12/06).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22RM, PCGS# 3942, Greysheet# 3118)
Weight: 5.00 grams
Metal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel
