1854 $20 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollar--Repaired, Cleaned--ANACS. AU50 Details. Short Arrows, K-1b, R.5. Kellogg & Co. first issued twenty dollar gold coins on February 9, 1854, in response to requests by local businessmen. Four different die marriages are known for 1854 Kellogg & Co. twenties, all of which are very scarce to rare. This is a straw-gold example with little wear and ample glimmering luster in spite of light hairlining. The cheek shows evidence of repair just below the eye. Minor marks are distributed throughout. Listed on page 374 of the 2010 Guide Book.
