Description

K-3b 1855 Kellogg & Co. Twenty, VF25

1855 $20 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollar VF25 PCGS. K-3b, R.5. Even after the opening of the San Francisco Mint, the private gold coinage of Territorial issuers played in an important role in the early California state economy, as evidenced by the moderate wear on this Kellogg & Co. twenty. Though softly struck and significantly abraded, this piece has considerable remaining luster in the yellow-gold fields, and consequently, considerable eye appeal. Listed on page 374 of the 2010 Guide Book.
From The Larry V. Cunningham Collection.
