LYDIAN KINGDOM. Croesus and Persian rule (ca. 561-546 BC). AR half-stater or siglos (16mm, 5.38 gm). NGC Choice XF ★ 5/5 - 5/5. Confronted foreparts of lion right and bull left, each with outstretched foreleg / Two square incuse punches. SNG Von Aulock 2877. Berk 23. Cleanly struck on a broad, lozenge-shaped flan, with beautiful golden toning in fields over residual luster. An exceptional specimen!From the Northern California Collection.
