Description

Brunswick-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover. George I Taler 1725-EPH MS62 NGC, Zellerfeld mint, KM134, Dav-2077, Welter-2231. Ernst Petr Hecht as Mint Master. By 1714, George I was both the King of Great Britain and Ireland as well as ruler of the Electorate of Hannover, his native province within the Holy Roman Empire. We don't normally think of British monarchs when we see a "Wildman" Taler, but it is an intriguing combination of numismatic heritages. This Mint State designated example is an excellent representative of the type.
