Description

1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet -- Holed and Plugged -- Genuine PCGS. Noe-1, W-690, Salmon 1-A, R.2. Pellets at trunk. The PCGS number ending in .84 suggests Damage as the reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of a Fine specimen that has been plugged and whizzed. An early die state of this collectible variety. Iridescent powder-blue and tan-gold toning visits bright and mildly wavy surfaces. Whizzed and repaired along the right obverse and left reverse borders. Listed on page 39 of the 2013 Guide Book.
