Description

1914-D Cent, MS65 Red
Long Recognized Key to the Series

1914-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. Ex: Tom Mershon Collection. For many years, the 1909-S VDB, 1914-D, 1922 "Plain," 1931-S, and 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln cents were considered the key-date issues within this series. While the grading service population or census data has shown that many other dates are rare in high-grade, these five issues are still the most difficult dates when all grades are considered. This Gem 1914-D cent has bright golden luster with splashes of crimson-red toning, especially around the peripheral areas. Even close examination fails to reveal any carbon spotting. This is one of the very finest 1914-Ds available in the current market place. Population: 74 in 65 (10 in 65+) Red, 7 finer (4/19).
