Description

1909-S VDB Cent, MS66 Red
Capstone Issue in the Series

1909-S 1C VDB MS66 Red PCGS. Arguably one of the most well-recognized issues in American numismatics, the 1909-S VDB cent sustains ever-strong demand from collectors of all pursuits. The present Premium Gem features glowing luster and warm amber-red coloration. A small area of lighter toning occurs in the left obverse field. The designer's initials are clearly visible on the lower reverse, and all other motifs are equally sharp. The surfaces lack any mentionable abrasions. PCGS reports only 15 Red coins in higher numeric grades (8/19).
Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 2/2015), lot 3021, which realized $8,900.
