Description
1801 1C 1/000, S-223, B-17, R.1 -- Burnished -- NGC Details. AU. Breen Die State III, an intermediate die state with a rim break joining RT of LIBERTY, and a narrow rim break over IB. This is a difficult coin to describe, although we disagree with the NGC description of burnished. It may have been coated with a substance in the past, or perhaps buried. The sharpness is very nearly Mint State, and both sides exhibit moderate roughness. The lower reverse is bluntly struck. Our EAC grade VF20.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 224D, Variety PCGS# 36278, Base PCGS# 1464, Greysheet# 80009)
