Description

1802 S-231 Cent, MS61 Brown
Smooth, Glossy Surfaces

1802 1C No Stems, S-231, B-9, R.1, MS61 Brown NGC. Breen Die State IX, heavily cracked and clashed. The surfaces display glossy, burgundy-brown color without evidence of environmental damage. There is a small mark within the reverse bow and there are a few others in the left obverse field. Otherwise, there is not much to limit the grade other than slightly muted luster. The strike is bold, even, and well-centered. Fading dentils around portions of the rims is due to die failure in this latest-known state. Our EAC grade AU50.
