Description

1916-D Mercury Dime, MS62
Incredibly Close to Full Bands Detail

1916-D 10C MS62 PCGS. CAC. This is one of the most attractive and technically excellent 1916-D Mercury dimes we have seen in this grade. The coin displays blatantly original satin luster with ivory undertones illuminating faint russet and olive-gold wisps of toning. Abrasions are light and unobtrusive. But the strike is where this really stands apart from its peers in the MS62 grade -- despite not being designated Full Bands by PCGS, the horizontal fasces bands are indeed fully split and lack perhaps only full roundness individually. The strike is equally well defined throughout the border legends, making this coin a stand-out representative in every aspect. CAC endorsement is well deserved. Population: 23 in 62, 42 finer. CAC: 2 in 62, 9 finer (9/23).(Registry values: N2998)
