1804 C-2, B-3 Half Cent, Good Details
Second Rarest Draped Bust Variety
1804 1/2 C Crosslet 4, Stems, C-2, B-3, FS-301, High R.6 --
Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. Good Details. Manley Die State 2.0.
In The Half Cent, 1793-1857, William Eckberg estimated the number
of survivors for each die variety. Among Draped Bust half cents,
the 1808 C-1 is rarest, and the 1804 C-2 ranks second, ahead of the
famous 1802 C-1 with the reverse of 1800. Olive-brown surfaces have
been tooled, likely to remove obverse corrosion, while the reverse
appears in its natural state. Our EAC grade AG3.From The Mark Hays Collection of Half Cents.
