Description
1795 1/2P Washington Grate Halfpenny, Large Buttons, Lettered Edge AU50 PCGS Secure. Baker-29, W-10990, R.6. The lettered edge variety is much rarer than Baker-29B or Baker-29AA. Struck later than the usually encountered reeded edge pieces, since a die break obscures much of the F in FIRM. This walnut-brown example is unblemished, and the strike is good except on the first ON in LONDON.
