Description

1794 1C Talbot, Allum & Lee Mule, Stork Reverse, LIVERPOOL Edge MS64 Brown PCGS. Breen-1043, W-8670, R.4. Designated by PCGS as the rarer LONDON edge variant, but examination of the edge near 11 o'clock confirms it reads LIVERPOOL. One of the elusive varieties struck from mismatched dies for sale to early Conder token collectors. Other issued mules include Blofield Cavalry, John Howard, and Earl Howe. Generally olive-brown although mint red persists in the legends. Smooth aside from faint vertical lines on the right obverse field.

Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 973)
