Description
Flashy Choice About Uncirculated 1891-CC Double Eagle
1891-CC $20 AU58 NGC. A bright and reflective coin that boasts a strong strike and great visual eye appeal. The surfaces have moderate handling marks seen on virtually all double eagles of the period, but Liberty's face and neck remain attractive. The curls on Liberty are strong, and this coin barely circulated before being set aside and preserved. Mintage for the year came in at a paltry 5,000 pieces, few of which survived to satisfy the large collector demand.Ex: Heritage (1/02), lot 4109.
Ex: Eagle Collection.
