1931-S 5C MS67 PCGS. An important depression-era issue, the
1931-S was the final issue until the series was resumed in 1934.
There were no 1931 nickels struck in Philadelphia or Denver,
placing extra demand on the 1931-S coins. This stunning Superb Gem
is tied for the finest certified. The pristine surfaces exhibit
brilliant luster with extraordinary gold, rose, and ice-blue
toning. PCGS has graded 20 submissions in MS67, and NGC adds 11
more. CAC has graded one MS67 example of this issue (7/25). None
have earned a special designation such as a Plus or Star. This
1931-S Buffalo nickel is tied for the finest that any professional
