Description

1859 F-101 Dime, PR66+
Stars Obverse Subtype

1859 10C F-101, R.4, PR66+ CACG. 1859 was the second year that proof sets were sold to the general public, and the final year of the Stars Obverse subtype. The proof 1859 dime has a low mintage of 800 pieces, and high-grade specimens are very scarce. Glassy fields and pleasantly frosted motifs are the calling card of the present Premium Gem. The lavender-tinged surfaces are devoid of distractions, and PCGS reports only one numerically finer non-Cameo proof (9/25).
