George III gold 1/3 Guinea 1813 MS65 NGC, KM650, S-3740. An enticing gem representative of this final-year denomination, after which the 1816 Great Recoinage reintroduced silver into widespread circulation thus negating the need for such a specific Guinea fraction. Fabulous for its visual appeal, both obverse and reverse split into concentric circles of frosted matte luster and brilliant prooflike reflectivity, George's portrait needle-sharp and without wear.
